Inn At Whitewing Farm

Known as “...one of the most beautiful farms in Chester County,” Whitewing Farm is concealed on a country road, beautifully located in historic Brandywine Valley nearby the world-renowned Longwood Gardens and only moments away from Winterthur and Brandywine River Museum.

History of Whitewing Farm

All of The Inn at Whitewing Farm and the majority of Brandywine Valley were initially occupied by the native Lenape Tribe in the fifteenth century. The property’s ownership was shifted to William Penn in the beginning of the seventeenth century, and after that he sold it to the Pierces, a Quaker farming family. The Pierces were dairy farmers who created one of the first arboretums (a botanical garden devoted to trees) that was said to have the most supreme tree compilations in the country. By the middle of the 1900s, the Pierces decided to sell most of their land to Pierre DuPont, who founded the famous “Longwood Gardens.”

Whitewing Farm has been in operation as an Inn since 1995. The DeSeta family is credited with turning Whitewing Farm into a bed and breakfast.

The 1700s farmhouse, featured in the prestigious “Chester County Home Tour,” allows for magnificent panoramic views, a fully stocked pond, perfectly kept grounds with stunning rare trees and perennials.
